Use the Keyboard
See also "Nine times out of ten, the keyboard is faster ".
This has been demonstrated, shown and proven time and time again.
All You have to do is give it a fair trial.
You are glued to the mouse, because you have seen other people use the mouse.
Other people use the mouse because that's how they saw the instructor "do it in class".
But the instructor uses the mouse so you all can see where he or she is going on the overhead.
The keyboard is faster because it is discrete. Hitting a key with a fingertip is more accurate that sliding a mouse with a hand, wrist and forearm to hit a tiny icon, or to position the text cursor between two characters.
I, Chris Greaves promise you this: If you'll switch to the keyboard for three days and do your best to make proper use of it, you'll shudder at how much time you have wasted and how much frustration you've felt when using the mouse.

Something to discuss: The rise of the internet in popular culture has led to scams . Common advice is “Don’t click on a suspicious link”. Of course, as scammers get smarter how are we to know if a link is a scam? The answer might be to shorten the now-traditional advice to “Don’t Click”. If we are in the habit of using the keyboard, because “Nine times out of ten, the keyboard is faster than the mouse”, then when we are urged to click on anything, we will see that as an un-natural act. And that may give us the split-second we need to pause.
