Lettuce

I have several aquariums, some cracked, the rest intact, but void of fish on account of the cat. Don't ask.

Aquariums rhyme with Terrariums, and this winter I decided to try my hand at raising a small crop of fresh, crisp, green lettuce, at hand for sandwiches and salads.

I placed some pebbles and gravels in the aquarium, sprinkled at little bit of vermicomposting for nutrition, and spread some lettuce seeds on the lot, then misted with a spray bottle I own.

Here are the thin seedlings at a week old.
