How quickly does a colony of six baby worms grow?

I had separated large worms from the container of Euros when they arrived, and a few weeks later extracted the stragglers.

The carton has sat quietly for two more months. Have any eggs hatched?

Turns out yes!

I found 6 small worms when I carefully teased through the material, twice, this morning.

I have set up a 2-litre tub with 420 g damp paper (soaked three hours then drained overnight), and 300g of soil/coffee grounds mixture which I’d dampened overnight.

I add the crushed shells of eight eggs because I’ve heard that coffee grounds are acidic, and I think the crushed shells will help to neuturalize the acid.

The lid sits lightly on the tub, which is placed at the back of a bookshelf that receives no direct sunlight.
