Milton Transit
Bus stops are marked with a white sign displaying the international bus symbol and the Milton Transit green swoosh and logo
The system appears to be a radial system, rather like Peterborough.

Eight bus routes ought to be doable in one morning; they take in everything from an industrial area (#1) to dormitories (#2-8). “All transfers occur at the Milton GO Station.”
With the exception of Route 2, all routes leave the downtown core and travel a loop around one part of the town. The Route #2 is unique in that it oscillates between the east and west of the town, passing through the downtown core twice on a complete circuit – once westbound, and once eastbound.

Senior: 65+ years Exact Cash Fare |

Day Pass: All ages: One adult or senior and up to three students |

This from the web page “Prices - Milton Transit.htm”. (Effective January 2, 2014; subject to change)I find it confusing; maybe they have posted both fares as separate fares so that making a change in one rate in the future makes it easier.
Hours of Operation
Monday to Friday: 5:40 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Paper Bus map
I sent an email asking if a paper map was available; I hope to collect one when I arrive.
Community Bus
“Community Bus is a fully accessible service designed to make travel easier for persons with limited mobility, but can be used by anyone. Community Bus service connects passengers to and from various seniors' residences, Town facilities, shopping and grocery centres, Milton District Hospital and other key destinations of interest.”
By the map it seems to be a mixture of parts of routes 2, 5 and 8.
Downtown
Seems to be basically Main Street; all bus routes travel along Main Street.
Things To Do
Most web links bring up a list of places to see OUTSIDE Milton, for which one needs a car.
We’ll see next Tuesday ...

There is a main branch quite close to the GO Terminal. The library web site tells me that Transit services for the library include:-
Route 1 - Woodward
Route 2 - Main
Route 3 - Trudeau
Route 4 - Thompson/Clark
Route 5 - Yates
The library is on the SE (nominally!) corner of Main and Thompson and is served by bus routes #1 and #2; bus routes #3, #4, #5 and #7 pass quite close, warranting a jump-off as I re-approach the Main Street hub. It is at any rate walking distance from the Bus Hub and the GO Station.
Town Hall
Is south (nominally) of Main Street off the west end of the business district.

I note with interest that I have documented much less for this trip. I suppose that I am becoming accustomed to the mode of travel; I know to get to the bus station is a half-hour walk in the quiet morning, that there will be a breakfast café, that there will (usually!) be a bus-map, and so on.
I can catch the first bus at 06:20 from Union, but the days are growing shorter, and it will be dark when I leave home around 05:40. So I could catch the 07:20 bus and it will make little difference to my day. Likewise I can have a slow supper in Milton and get the 19:20 bus home, or leave by an earlier bus – 18:30 or even 17:3 – and still have had a good day.
Much depends on just how much there is to do when I get there. And I’m NOT traveling on a closed-shop Monday any more!
