Shift + Click on Icon Open a New Instance

There I was with six Microsoft Word documents open on my desktop, and I needed a new copy of Microsoft Word to be loaded.

There I was with a DOS window open on my desktop, and I needed a new DOS window to be loaded.

There I was with ...

And the icons are compressed into one icon down on the task bar.

“Hold down the Shift key” I said to myself, “and then click the icon”.

Voila! As they say elsewhere.

A new instance of the application is open, Microsoft Word with a blank document, DOS window with administrator privileges, MSPaint with a blank canvas, ...

Piece of cake!
