Hanging Basket Holder

Now this is brilliant, or will be. Back in 1983 I bought two kits, three rods that made a spring-loaded pole that wedged between the floor and the ceiling. Not produced now.

In cleaning out the shed I found an old standard lamp, with no socket; stripped out the wire, removed the top blob, and then drilled a hole in a short plank to demonstrate that I don't need a floor-to-ceiling pole, spring-loaded, nor do I need brass-coated steel rods bent in a weird S-shape to hold hanging baskets (of which I had none last time I looked).

The best wood is probably one-inch plywood, because my scrap of plank split at one end, and we don't want that to happen with a heavy basket of soil.

One pot empties and the thing is unbalanced, and over they all go.

This stand is important to me, because I want to spend winter looking in delight at an indoor cascade of greenery in hanging baskets.
