Chain of Hearts
Google images says Ceropegia woodii, “String of hearts”
Wikipedia says Ceropegia woodii is a flowering plant in the dogbane family Apocynaceae , native to South Africa , Eswatini and Zimbabwe . It is sometimes treated as a subspecies of the related Ceropegia linearis , as C. linearis subsp. woodii. [1] Common names include Chain of Hearts, Collar of Hearts, String of Hearts, Rosary Vine, Hearts-on-a-String, and Sweetheart Vine
How to Propagate String of Hearts says “If you’ve had your string of hearts for a while you might have spotted some small, round and almost “potato-like” growths on the vines. Parasites? Disease? No, aerial tubers!”
Here is a tuber alongside my small vegetable knife.
Here is an aerial tuber, about 1 cm diameter. It looks very much like a potato tuber, and of course we have a vine here.
Here is my plant trimmed down, on the study window-sill.
I planted three or four leaves as I would for succulents.
And set six to eight stems in a jar of water.
