Toronto’s Downtown Garbage Dump

Toronto’s New Landfill Site is huge. It is bounded to the north by Bloor Street and to the south by Lake Ontario. East and West boundaries are roughly Parliament Street and Spadina Avenue..

Here is some Garbage Littering not only the sidewalk outside Ryerson University, but also the new Flower Bed Planters that were installed at Great Expense a year ago.

To the right of the image you can see that Yobbos, having played street football with the orange cones, demonstrated their Orang-Utan roots by Swinging from the Branches of a tree.

Here is Garbage in the Flower Beds.

Now, the name and telephone number of a firm called Stinson is stenciled on each cone.

Do I call or write to Stinson and ask them to remove this crap? It is possible that Stinson just Sells or Leases the Pylons to one of the many fly-by-night Lowest-Bid Contractors that Toronto City Council hires to get 90% of the work done.

I say ninety percent because it seems that once a job is 90% complete, the crews disappear for a year or more before coming back to wrap things up.

I missed this one, but now that school is back in, the Wednesday Evening Talks have started up again. Into the Calendar with them!

Observations

Back on Sunday 3rd September I wrote “Why not use the Web?”.

I repeat myself, I know, but surely a Public-Funded Agency should be publishing its Meetings, Minutes, Reports, and Memos on the web so that the public who fund the agency can see what we are not getting for our money?
