Yesterday was the First Day of School. I am a parent and I rejoice. NOT because the “kids are out of my hair”, but because we are back to a stack of about a Hundred Free Copies of The Toronto Star at Ryerson University, and that means I don’t feel the need to rush off at 630 to be sure I get one of the dozen or so copies – all that we are offered when the Students are on Vacation.
And that means that I can wait until the sky is bright before I set off for my First Walk of the Day. Now that “the kids are back at school” I can relax.
Job Loss in your Fifties is no joke.
On the other hand, nor is Budgeting.
It is not clear to me why one would not Adjust One’s Lifestyle to the new circumstances rather than try to maintain a lifestyle maintained at a Steady Wage or Salary.
When you are out of work, it’s time to cut back on what used to be seen as “Needs” and redefine them as “Wants”.
I saw this sign at Buskerfest and just loved it!
