Mayor Tory praises transit in Asia on return to Toronto
This was headline news back on April 20th.
I have only just recovered from the shock.
In September 1982 I left Singapore and arrived in Toronto.
Toronto had just built the extensions to the Bloor-Danforth line taking in Kipling and Kennedy stations.
Since then we have had nothing, since the SRT shuts down in a snowstorm, and almost nobody uses the Mel Lastman White Elephant line.
Just in case you were wondering, here’s what Singapore has built since the Toronto Transit Commission bravely opened Kennedy and Kipling stations as in-the-countryside extensions of an existing subway line.
