Yesterday was walking weather, so I trotted up the hill to the concert (cancelled!) at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church and trotted down the hill home. Three-point-four kilometres each way, and yes, I do it in 45 minutes, within Google’s guidelines.
So 6.3 Km and a 90-minute stroll.
Then I wandered down to St Andrew’s ”Better English Cafe” and back again.
Two-point-one kilometres each way, and yes, I do it in 25 minutes, within Google’s guidelines.
So 4.2 Km and a 50-minute stroll.
Excluding my early-morning walk to Ryerson for the paper, I do 10.5 Km in about 140 minutes.
Here, I’ll save you doing the math: 4.5 Km/hour, but that includes waiting (occasionally) for a green light, and time spent screaming abuse back at drivers who get upset when I use the cross-walk for walking on, when a better use of a cross-walk turns out to be a prime location to park a large utility truck while waiting for a gap in the traffic.
“Sorry!” said the nice man at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church when he told me the concert was cancelled.
No sweat, I told him (I said “not to worry”, actually).
“If a cancelled Free Concert is the worst thing that happens to me today, it’ll be a Good day”.
Ever so true.
