If you had any doubts about the depressing nature of today's news, let me disillusion you.

Your local state or provincial paper is probably the same.

• Fight

• Kill

• Kill

• Riot

• Storm

• Flood

• Burglaries

• Fatal stabbing

• Climate change

What do you think this does to your view of the world?

Is your audio view any different?

Is your audio-visual view any different?

Would you really want any of those views to be different?

If this type of data depresses you, why do you read it?

Can it be that secretly you want to be depressed?

There! Does it make you feel better because no-one has been killed in your street today?

Is your newspaper a form of pay-back from your state: – "See, this hasn't happened in your street today; aren't you glad that we are in control?".

Does knowing about this stuff have an impact on you in any positive sense?

List one thing that you did today to counter this dose of news?
