On Being Tried in the Media

This blog is titled “Clear Thinking”, and this posting is about “Clear Thinking”, and logic, despite my views of the bribery, corruption, and out-and-out lying by the feds and the police and the .... don’t get me started!

“Toronto police union head Mike McCormack also said he could not comment on an open investigation. “Obviously I’m concerned about our members being tried in the media,” he added.”

This doesn’t make sense to me.

It is illogical, and that means no-sense and nonsense means insane.

How often do we see in the same paper stories, names and photos, released by the police, of suspects wanted for questioning?

I suspect that all too often the identified individuals are guilty of some crime, even ‘though innocent until proved guilty.

But how, in the name of all that’s equal, is that different from identifying a police officer?

In both cases “Reason to believe” is present.

In both cases the person is identified and however you interpret “tried in the media” applies.

You can’t have it both ways, Mike McCormack.

Either you allow the Toronto Star to identify people, or you don’t.

P.S. My feelings are that people who carry guns and make decisions are held to a HIGHER standard of behavior than the plebs.
