On my desk is a short pamphlet of biographies of candidates for the 2025 Convocation elections of the University of Western Australia. In case you are wondering Convocation is a mixture of Con (with) and Vocal (calling); it is a calling-together of graduates of the university. I could be a candidate because I graduated from The University of Western Australia in 1967.

Here are the surnames of the candidates:-

Cheong; Collins; Giles-Corti; Goerke; Kamil; Ong; Ong; Praeger; Scagnetti; Tennant; VM; Wong.

Make what you will of The White Australia Policy.

The Wikipedia article states in part “… while the Holt government removed discrimination against non-white applicants for citizenship in 1966 …”.

In 1966 I was still at University as an undergraduate.
