Web Site Creation
“There is no question that the Internet is transforming consumer behavior and buying practices, and companies without access to digital marketing expertise quickly find themselves falling behind. Over the last three years, e-marketing has been growing over 50% per year” - Canadian Marketing Association.
- Premise: There is nothing mysterious about web sites - until now you didn't know how to go about getting one for $10.
There is something very depressing about a business card with an AOL or GMAIL address.
And without a web site, you are not likely to be “found” by someone searching for your services, and will not have a nice store-front appearance to stand there with the rest of your peers.
This course takes you step by step from NOTHING to a glowing web presence.

Letter Writing
- Premise: Don’t spend money mailing letters; Make letters make money for you
- Letter Writing for Mature Professionals

- What doesn’t work?
- What does work?
- The small-step process.
Learn to design all forms of business communications that will go to work for you, carrying the message that your prospects should take action NOW!

Understand the easy steps that lead to letters that get results.
Postcards
- Shift your marketing strategy
- Aim for bigger, more profitable clients
- Lose your fear of the investment you have made in your 300 contacts on your contact list.
Most of those contacts are people you have never met; they get a Christmas card each year. A telephone call twice a year if they are lucky.
Your investment in them is about fifteen minutes a year, two dollars in postage. No wonder you don’t get much business from them.
On the other hand, when You do phone them, they respond cheerfully “Oh Hi! Good to hear from You!”. You are recognized; they just don’t know what they want from You.
Hence - The Postcard Campaign.
- Why postcards?
- Slogans
- Costs
- Sides
- Sizes
- Frequency
- Mail-merge
- The Dastardly Printer
Proposals
- Premise: Business is the exchange of two pieces of paper, one of which must be a cheque.
A proposal is a means of establishing new business with a client or a prospect.
Proposals and resumes are quite similar.
The proposal is a communication that elicits a cheque from the recipient. It is the means of initiating business, and converting a prospect into a client.
A good proposal generates a cheque; a bad proposal must be rewritten.
- Proposals that Write Themselves
- The Phone Call
- The Email
- The Folders
- The Writing Process
- The Deadline
- The Result
Time Management
- Premise: Jet lag and Daylight saving time notwithstanding, we have twenty four hours in each day. No more; no less.
You have just returned from two networking events – You were away most of the day. You dump your wallet, pockets, purse etc. on the desk and retire for the night, exhausted.
In the morning a mountain of paper awaits You – business cards with hand-written notes, receipts, the lot. You know what I’m talking about.
Of course, You wake late at 8:30 a.m. and are dismayed at Your plan to start telephoning at 9:00 a.m.
For many people this is an unpalatable truth, but it remains the truth, regardless of popular belief. There are twenty four hours in every day. If you are unconvinced of this, you will not be able to manage your time, for you cannot manage something you do not have.
The trick in time management is to recognise that the time we are given slips away regardless of what we do, and tomorrow will bring a fresh twenty four hours.
It is our responsibility to use today’s twenty-four hours in a proper manner, for we shall never see them again, never.
